Has visto nuestras pajaritas y te encantan pero “¿se ponen de verdad?”, “¿quedarán bien o colgarán para abajo?”, “¿Eso es cómodo?”, “¿Se caerá y se romperá?”, “¿Eso no es peligroso ni se clava?”, y la pregunta del millón “¿no pesan?”. Estas y otras preguntas nos las hacéis mucho justo después de la sorpresa de ver pajaritas hechas de cerámica. Y lo entendemos, cuando un producto es nuevo y original, es normal que genere dudas, por eso os las vamos a resolver:

You have seen our ceramic bow ties and you love them but… “can you really wear that?”, “does it look upright when wearing it?”, “is it comfortable?”, “will it fall down and crack?”, “is it dangerous?”, and the million-dollar question “is it heavy?”. These and other questions are frequently asked after having the surprise of watching our ceramic bow ties. We understand that, it is normal to have doubts when a product is new and original, and this is why we are giving you the answers below:

• SÍ, SE PONEN / YES, THEY ARE READY TO WEAR.

Es el único uso de nuestras pajaritas de cerámica, el de vestirlas. Al igual que el del resto de complementos de moda. Además, como podéis ver en las fotos de nuestro lookbook o nuestras redes sociales, quedan muy finas y elegantes, y son perfectas para vestir en cualquier situación. El brillo del material hace que, al llevarlas puestas, luzcas una joya al cuello que necesita poco más para hacerte ser el más elegante y original de cualquier boda, celebración o evento.

That is the only use of our ceramic bow ties: wearing them. As you can see on our lookbook or social networks’ pictures, they are quite fine and elegant, perfect for any king of dresscode. Their brightness makes them look like a jewel on your neck, and you need no more to be the smartest and the most original guest in a wedding, celebration or event.

• NO SE CAEN / THEY DO NOT FALL DOWN EASILY.

Todas nuestras pajaritas de cerámica van cosidas a mano a una tirilla de tela con toda la calidad y seguridad posibles. No están pegadas a una tira elástica de la que puedan despegarse, caerse al suelo y romperse. Por tanto, en su uso propio como pajarita, no hay peligro de caída. Además, en ambos extremos de la tirilla tiene un cierre metálico resistente e irrompible.

All our ceramic bow ties are sewn by hand to a clothing strip in a secure and quality way. They are not glued to any elastic band so that they can fall down and crack. Therefore, while using them properly as a bow tie, they do not fall down and crack easily. Besides, they have a resistant metallic closure.

• NO SE CLAVAN NI HACEN DAÑO / THEY ARE NOT DANGEROUS

Nuestras Bowtery, igual que cualquier otro complemento de moda de cerámica, son ideales para vestir. Sus bordes están lijados y su acabado es romo para que, por supuesto, no se claven ni sean peligrosas. Son cómodas de llevar, ya que tienen un adaptador en la tira de tela para que las ajustes a la talla de tu cuello.

Our Bowtery bow ties, as well as any of our ceramic fashion accessories, are perfect to wear. Their edges are properly sanded and blunt, not being dangerous at all. They are very easy to wear, as they have an adapter on the clothing strip so that you can make them your size.

• NO QUEDAN CAÍDAS / THEY LOOK UPRIGHT.

Muchos podéis pensar que por el peso -hablamos de eso en el siguiente apartado- pueden quedar caídas hacia abajo, como colgando. Esto no es así porque están especialmente diseñadas para que queden totalmente verticales, como lo haría una pajarita de tela, gracias a que son muy ligeras y a que el sistema de enganche trasero a la tira de tela está muy bien ajustado y con una forma que se adapta a la postura inclinada del cuello.

Many of you think that because of their weight – we will talk about that on the next section- they can’t look upright and stay at their proper posture on the neck. This does not happen as they are specially designed to be kept upright, as any other clothing bow tie would, thanks to their light weight and their hook at the back part where they are stitched to the clothing strip, which has a perfect shape to adapt to the neck inclination.

• NO PESAN / THEY ARE NOT HEAVY

Nuestras pajaritas de cerámica pesan poco más de 30gr. aprox. Este peso no es incómodo ni impide que las pajaritas queden rectas en nuestro cuello. Esto es porque preparamos nuestra propia fórmula de gres y lo trabajamos en láminas muy finas y ligeras. Además, al estar hechas a mano, no hay barro en aquellas zonas donde no es necesario, como sí puede pasar con las piezas rellenadas a molde. Sin embargo, esta ligereza no es contraria a su dureza y resistencia, aunque obviamente estamos hablando de una pieza delicada que hay que cuidar de forma coherente.

Our ceramic bow ties weigh about 30gr. This does not avoid them to be comfortable or look wrong on the neck. This lightness is due to the fact that we prepare our own stoneware formula, and we work it by hand in very thin plates. Our bow ties do not hat excess of clay in those parts they do not need to, as some mould-made pieces may have. However, this light characteristic is not opposite to their strength and resistance, although we are dealing with a delicate work of fine art.

• NO SE ESTROPEAN NI SE MANCHAN / THEY ARE STAINLESS

Nuestras exclusivas pajaritas -y el resto de complementos- están hechas en gres de alta temperatura. Es un material de calidad, resistente, que como explicamos en el artículo “¿En qué se diferencia Bowtery de otras marcas?” está cocido a más de 1200ºC, cierra completamente el poro, y esto hace que el esmalte no se deteriore con el tiempo ni con golpes leves. Para mantenerlas en buen estado, sólo hay que guardarlas en su estuche con cuidado, y quizás pasarle algún trapo seco antes de vestirlas por quitarle polvo o reforzarle el brillo.

Our exclusive bow ties are handmade in high-fired stoneware. It is a high-quality and resistant material that, as we mention on our post “What is the difference between Bowtery and other brands?”, is fired in the kiln at more than 1200ºC, closes its pores completely and this makes the glaze not to be damaged with time and minor blows. In order to maintain them properly, you just need to keep them in their packaging and dust them before wearing them to improve their brightness.

• ¿Y SI TE CAES DE BOCA? / WHAT IF YOU FALL FLAT ON YOUR FACE?

Sí, esta pregunta también nos la hacen. Y como ésta, muchas otras que son más fruto de la búsqueda irracional de impedimentos a la creatividad y la originalidad, que de la curiosidad ante un producto novedoso. Si te caes de boca, deberías poner las manos para no partirte los dientes. La pajarita quedaría unos centímetros más atrás de éstos, y de romperse, sería el mal menor y el más barato. Con este apartado sólo queremos decir que cada producto tiene su uso y tratamiento lógico, y el cuidado que hay que tener vistiéndolo debe ser coherente con su exclusividad, material, calidad, etc.

Yes, we also listen to this question sometimes. And as many other ones, this question has more to do with the inability to understand originality and creativity than with normal doubts about a new product. If you fall flaton your face, you should brake with your hands as soon as possible in order not to crack your teeth. The bow tie would stay some centimetre behind, and in case of breaking it, that would be the minor and cheapest of your problems. In this section, we just want to warn that each product has its own use and treat, and taking care of it has to be coherent with its uniqueness, quality, material, etc.
